Video converter for Mac: convert, compress, mute and join

A video converter for Mac changes a file’s container or encoding; renaming its extension does not. Yuzu Drag converts MOV and MP4 using native macOS support, with separate tools to compress, mute or join clips.
Try QuickTime Player first
Open the clip in QuickTime Player. File > Export As offers resolution choices for making a new copy. Choose an appropriate size and inspect the result. QuickTime is useful when you want to play the clip, check its duration and make a one-off export without installing another app.
An export is not necessarily the exact container change a receiving service requests. Check both the resulting extension and whether the destination can play it. A supported extension does not mean every codec inside it is readable on your Mac.

Compression results depend on the source resolution, duration, codec and content. A smaller resolution sacrifices detail; it is not a promise of a particular attachment size. Keep your source for a higher-quality export later.
Use Yuzu Drag
- Begin dragging a supported video in Finder.
- Tap ⇧ for Convert and drop on MP4 or MOV, depending on the source.
- For compression or another tool, begin dragging and tap ⌘ for Tools.
- Drop on Compress, Mute or Join as appropriate. For Join, select the clips together before dragging.
- Finish any options shown, then play the new result before sending it.
The conversion wheel leaves out the source format. Convert and these tools create outputs rather than modifying the original clip. Native AVFoundation support determines what your Mac can decode and encode.
