Yuzu Drag privacy: app processing and website analytics

Yuzu Drag privacy has two separate parts: the app processes conversions and local tools on your Mac and sends no analytics; this website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand visits and interactions. Choosing a sharing action in the app is an explicit exception to local file processing.

Files processed by the app

Conversion and local tools use macOS frameworks inside the App Sandbox. You choose the files the app can work with through drag-and-drop and the supported file-selection workflows. No app account is required.

Yuzu Drag's file tools do not require Accessibility or Input Monitoring permission. Optional Clipboard auto-paste in the direct-download build needs approval in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility; otherwise you copy and paste manually with ⌘V. The Mac App Store build is copy-only. Ordinary macOS file and folder access requirements still apply when opening files or saving results.

Metadata removal is a local operation. Review the resulting file before sharing it: removing embedded metadata does not remove sensitive information visible in the file's contents or filename.

Clipboard history and external access

Clipboard is optional and off by default. When enabled, history is stored locally with private file permissions and excluded from Time Machine. You can set its item limit and expiry. Clear history in Settings › Clipboard also removes safety backups containing clipboard history.

The separate “Allow other apps to access Clipboard (Raycast, yuzudrag:// links)” switch in Settings › Clipboard is off by default. Both the Raycast clipboard feed and authenticated yuzudrag:// clipboard copy/paste links work only when Clipboard and this switch are on. Raycast reads local previews, not clipboard blobs; this is not a cloud clipboard service.

Tolaria notes

In Settings › Clipboard › Tolaria notes, explicitly choose “Add Vault Folder…” to connect folders. Access is read-only. Note bodies and the search index stay in memory; notes do not enter Yuzu clipboard history, backups or Raycast. Vault connection metadata and folder-access bookmarks are saved so Yuzu can reconnect.

Only an explicit note copy or paste puts content on the system clipboard. Pasting uses the Markdown body without frontmatter. Indexing is limited to 1 MiB per note, 64 MiB total and 20,000 notes. See Yuzu Clipboard for Tolaria setup and shortcuts.

When you choose Upload

Upload sends the selected files directly to your own S3-compatible bucket. You supply the bucket configuration; Yuzu does not provide hosted storage. The secret key stays in the macOS Keychain.

Your provider's access controls, public URL configuration, retention rules and terms apply to those objects. Check the destination and permissions before uploading confidential material. Having a link to an object does not by itself describe whether your bucket is private or public.

When you choose Filebin

Filebin sends a copy to filebin.net for a temporary public-by-link share. Anyone with the link can open it. Links normally expire in about a week, but expiry and service availability depend on the service. Do not treat this as private storage or a permanent archive.

Local processing and optional hosting are different operations. If you do not want a selected file sent to a hosting service, do not choose these upload actions.

Website analytics

The website uses GA4, measurement ID G-GR3SHZ4HGP. It measures page views and interactions such as download-link clicks, FAQ opens, language changes, section views and user interactions with the demo. Donation and feedback-link clicks are also measured.

The automatic Watch demo loop does not generate demo interaction events. User activity in Try mode can generate those events. A download click records a link click, not a completed download, installation or purchase. A direct visit to the download redirect does not run this website tracking code.

Browser settings and tracking blockers can prevent analytics collection. The app itself sends no analytics; website measurement is not app telemetry.

Website preferences

Choosing a language sets the yuzu_lang cookie for one year so future visits can use your choice. The site also stores language and light/dark appearance preferences in your browser's local storage. These preferences are separate from GA4 analytics; changing language or appearance does not disable analytics.
